The sambadrome is a street in Rio de Janeiro, designed for holding street parades, Samba carnivals and other large-scale actions. Created in 1984. The building is a fenced 700-meter long street, on both sides of which are grandstands for spectators.

The total area of the Sambadrome is $ 85 thousand square meters, which can accommodate up to 62 thousand people. Usually, the carnival lasts for 4 nights from 21.00 till dawn. The first night at the Sambadrome are beginners, and more — the most experienced dancers.

During the traditional Brazilian carnival every night at the Sambadrome are 3-4 schools, each of which is up to 4 thousand people. The total number of schools is equal to 12, 8 of which are called the elite, and 4 — beginners. During the March, each school tries to portray a certain song from dancing the Samba people.
